Integrating Faith with Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
How can faith-based therapy may be paired with Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP)? The ketamine helps to change structurers in the brain which helps reduce symptoms and suffering and can help improve mood. The faith-based therapy provides a way to make meaning of the experience for healing.
There are several ways faith-based practices can be incorporated. For example, during the preparation phase, faith-based therapy may help you clarify your intentions and goals. During the ketamine session, a client may report certain experiences which can be contextualized within their beliefs. The integration phase is where faith-based therapy can be most beneficial. Clients can explore how insights during this experience connect to their faith, how it shifts their sense of purpose, forgiveness and healing. Prayer, journaling and scripture reflection may also be used during this time to deepen the integration process.
